It's time for the Liburnia Film Festival
Opatija has become an indispensable venue for film lovers. Spice up your holiday with a touch of suspense, as it's time for the Liburnia Film Festival.
The 14th edition of the oldest documentary film festival in Croatia and the only one that shows exclusively recent Croatian documentary films will take place at Opatija's Open Air Theatre from 22 to 26 August. A total of 22 films will be competing for seven awards (best festival film, best regional film, the audience award, best director, editing, sound design, and camera). Among them, there will be four world premieres, two Croatian premieres, and four festival premieres. As usual, on the last day of the festival there will be screenings of films produced by the Restart production company, which is the co-organiser of the festival.
The Liburnia Film Festival will also include workshops and discussions, such as an educational programme for the youngest visitors in collaboration with Restart, and for those who are a bit older in collaboration with Filmaktiv from Rijeka. Audience of all ages will have many interesting things to learn from the case study of last year's documentary Goli, which achieved great success, or during moderated discussions with film directors during Coffee with the author.
Book your accommodation on the Opatija Riviera and enjoy good company, excellent films, and great fun.
