A Wealth of Performances at Opatija's Summer Stage
Open air events, concerts and plays are among those special treats of the summer. Surely there is nothing better than all kinds of events taking place on the beautiful Summer Stage, situated between Opatija's enchanting Angiolina park and its ever-vibrant pier.
This July, Opatija will, as is tradition, dance to some jazz beats, thanks to its revered Liburnia Jazz Festival. The Barufe Festival, dedicated to urban music, is also back with some amazing bands performing on 13 and 14 July, such as TBF, Urban & 4 and Moskva. On 20 July, opera fans will be delighted by the opera & ballet orchestra and choir of the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc, who will perform Verdi's famous Aida. For all of you romantics out there, Marko Tolja and the Croatian Radiotelevision's Jazz Orchestra will take the stage on 29 July.
August will kick off with a concert by former Yugoslavia's oldest and most successful rock band – Bijelo dugme. They will play their greatest hits on Sunday, 6 August. To make sure you get your fair share of good ballads, Đorđe Balašević will arrive on the Summer Stage on 12 August.
Make no mistake, there will be plenty of other diverse events to suit everyone's taste – we are merely highlighting some of those that will make this summer in Opatija unforgettable. So, if you still don't know where to spend your holidays, the Opatija Riviera is your perfect destination.
