The 10th Učka Fair will take place on Sunday 4 September 2016 at Poklon Pass in Učka Nature Park. The fair will provide visitors with the opportunity to learn some of the hidden secrets of the protected area of Mount Učka, to explore its cultural and ethnological heritage, to savour local dishes, and to become acquainted with its traditional crafts and customs.
Numerous local small producers, craftsmen and family farms will present their products at the fair. At more than thirty stands, visitors will have the chance to taste and buy homemade specialities, such as brandies, honey, olive oil, sweets, marmalades, cheeses, and much more. The fair will also include an exhibition of traditional tools and dishes, and a presentation of old crafts, such as wheel pottery and the making of wooden barrels and traditional musical instruments. The youngest visitors will be delighted with the pen with indigenous farm animals, such as Istrian boškarin oxen, Istrian pramenka sheep, cows, donkeys and goats, while the Nature Park's open-air classroom will host interesting theatrical performances for children. The fair will also include performances by several musical bands.
During Učka Fair, the road that passes along Poklon Pass across Mount Učka will be turned into a one-way road from the direction of Istria to Kvarner, with a special price of 10 kn for the Učka Tunnel.
